Lake Pflugerville

Lake Pflugerville, a 180-acre community drinking water reservoir, opened to the public in 2006.  After developing the community’s largest capital project, amenities have been added.  With the assistance of sponsors such as the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, who helped stock multiple species of fish and add crushed granite trail around the perimeter, the water venue is beginning to develop.  Financial support from local businesses and civic groups also facilitated building fee-free fishing piers around Lake Pflugerville.  Each fishing pier and related signage was built with volunteer labor from varius civic and community groups.

The lake was visited by an estimated 500 people during its opening. The venue is regularly visited by runners, walkers and sailboarders. The sprint triathlon sponsored this summer by Jack and Adams Biclces was limited to 350 athletes.

Our most recent news is that the City of Pflugerville was awarded a $200,000 LCRA Partnerships In Parks grant for a community park on the northeast side of Lake Pflugerville.  The Pflugerville Community Development Corporation has pledged an additional $100,000 from their 2008 budget.  Review the proposed park map and overall site plan.
